Female-Focused Media Brand Freeda Lands 14.5 Million EUR in Series B

Freeda lands 14.5 million EUR in a Series B funding. The round, led by Alven, will fuel the company’s expansion to English-speaking markets.

The funding brings the social media content producer’s total raised to over 27.2 million EUR. U-Start, Endeavor Catalyst, and Unicredit participated in the Series B round. Investor Alven also led the Series A round for Freeda. Its London office is set to open soon, and this funding will support that process.

Freeda – Vying for Visibility

The media brand competes against Refinery 29, Vogue, and Mic, vying for visibility in the Instagram and Twitter-sphere. It produces short interviews and video content that is uplifting and style-oriented.

At the moment, the company boasts placement as the number one female brand for interactions on Instagram, with 81.92 million interactions, compared with its competitor Vogue, with 72.92 million interactions.

Its interactions on social media have reached over 1 million during 2019. The women-focused media company launched in 2016. Based in Milan, it also operates in Spain and South America. Following this funding, the company will launch its London office.
