The series A round was led by Adevinta with participation from FJ Labs, All Iron Ventures, Russmedia International and Mairdumont Ventures. The company collected a total of 7 million EUR in funding. The money is set to flow into the further development of their platform.Â
PaulCamper’s Easy Way to Enable a Vacation with a Camper
The company was founded by Dirk Fehse. After a camping trip to Australia, he wanted to give the opportunity to travel at any time to people who do not possess the necessary resources. The online sharing platform gives people who own a camper but do not use it all the time a chance to share their camper. People who want to take a vacation in a camper but cannot afford or don’t want to buy one can take advantage of those campers. The owners and the travellers then meet and agree on an offer. Here the owners have a chance to explain the camper to the travellers.Â
Owners can rest assured that when renting through PaulCamper their campers have an all-round insurance. This includes a 24-hour breakdown cover while the private car insurance remains unaffected.
The platform even publishes a magazine. It is filled with destinations, travel and camper tips, useful camping apps, relaxing tips after a long journey and games for the children on board.
Plans for the Future
At the moment the platform operates over 5000 campers from Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. Their renters come from all over the world.Â
With the received new funding, PaulCamper will invest into the development of their platform. They will also expand their operations and business further into Europe meaning they can connect more owners and travellers.Â
