Logistics Startup Sennder Receives €62.4 Million in Series C

In their Series C round, Sennder, a Berlin-based company founded in 2015, has landed €62.4 million. Founders David Nothacker, Nicolaus Schefenacker, and Julius Koehler developed a platform which coordinates logistics between shipping companies and local deliveries.

Truckloads of Funding

This funding marks a total of €100 million raised in 2019 for the logistics scaleup. Led by Accel, their Series B funding round closed in April 2019 at €27 million.

Furthermore, the company plans to use the money to strengthen their presence in the €359 billion European shipping and freight industry. Sennder currently operates in Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Benelux.

“The investments by venture capital firms Lakestar and Accel show that we have identified a massive challenge and its solution that will play a vital role for the future of the European logistic markets,” said Sennder co-founder Nicolaus Schefenacker.

Detailed Delivery Services

The funding for the Berlin-based digital freight marketplace is notable because their technology is making waves in the logistics industry. Its innovative platform is a paperless approach to coordinate small and medium truck load management.

The full truck load (FTL) company offers clients real time booking and live tracking, which therefore increases communication and quality in delivery services.

Similarly, their online software tracks weather and road conditions to ensure optimum delivery routes and maximum reliability.
