Lumos: Simplifying Street Safety for Cyclists

The best way to ride safely is to be proactive about it. Lumos smart bike helmet can help you with that. Designers added an all-round LED light that makes riders visible at night, reducing the probability of having a collision. Besides collision, wearing Lumos smart bike helmet helps communicate the right message to pedestrians and drivers while turning. The modern helmet has a built-in motion sensor. Additionally, the wireless turn handlebar remote controls the luminosity of the LED light.

Safety councils across the world have already verified the helmet for use. The smart bike helmet has the approval of the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Europe EN 1078, and Australia AS 2063. Even Bill Nye the Science Guy reviewed the project, with a glowing recommendation.

Also, the Lumos smart bike helmet has the Multi-directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) option, a technology invented by health experts and brain surgeons to suppress the rotational tensions on the brain during an accident.

Lumos smart bike helmet is fortified with more than 500 lumens of light output. This is all you need to guide your way through the night. The battery can last for 6 hours on flashing mode and 3 hours when the solid mode is activated. The solid mode increases the brightness of the helmet. Lumos smart bike helmet has a beta feature aka the hard brake light feature which is always off by default. The LED light would emit solid red when this feature is activated.

The project has been live on Kickstarter since July 2015 and has raised 809,551 USD (732,000 EUR) from 6,072 backers.
