Equalture, a startup from Rotterdam, has raised €1 million for its self-declared data-driven and bias-free hiring technology. The company, founded by twin sisters Charlotte and Fleur Melkert, offers an AI-based neuro-assessment for the recruiting process. The Series A funding comes from investors 4impact and Innovation Quarter.
The team wanted to help companies make better hiring decisions about employees based on data and value over time. So, as a company does more hiring through the app, the platform learns what qualities make a good candidate for the team. It also screens candidates for skills and values, ensuring that the hire is promising both in ability and compatibility. Furthermore, Equalture boasts that its service helps reduce bias in hiring, evening the playing field for people from minority groups who may be overlooked in the traditional hiring process. Moving forward, the company plans to use the money to expand internationally.
Liduina Hammer, head of investments at InnovationQuarter said, “It’s great to see two young entrepreneurs having such an impact by applying AI to recruitment, enabling their customers to select job candidates without bias. Among other things, this helps promote diversity within the labour market. With this investment, InnovationQuarter is also contributing to the objectives of the FundRight statement signed on 19 May to boost women-led entrepreneurship in the Netherlands.”
