Play Music, Movies or Spy on Your Pets With Ease
Our homes are flooded with dozens of various devices and each of them promises to be the life-changing one. But when you suddenly want to watch a Youtube video while having a bath, you realise it’s not that easy.
Maybe not everyone dreams about having a bubble bath with a futuristic R2D2-like robot by their side but nevertheless, Keecker is said to be a portable entertainment, communication and safety device that will rock your home. And what’s under its hood?
Immersive Audio
Keecker is a well-designed rounded robot that moves around the house using its wheels. Equipped with 4.1 sound system and whopping 50W subwoofer, the robot promises to provide an immersive musical experience.
This four-wheeled party animal plays music through Spotify, Deezer or Google Play Music. However, since the robot uses voice commands, it is questionable whether it can hear everything loud and clear while playing your favourite metal songs.
Camera and Projection
The robots allows you to play your favourite shows or movies on any available surface, even on the ceiling! The 90 degree orientable LED projector can turn your walls into a night sky or make your weekly exercising a little more enjoyable. With ceiling projections, you can simply look up while doing your crunches.
It further promises outstanding 6000:1 contrast and 1000 lumens brightness. Additionally, the robot provides a helpful addition to your home security. You can see if your dog is sitting on a couch while at work by using either 13 Mpx fisheye camera or the front 5 Mpx remote mobility cam.
While the device may not completely replace your curved 4K HDR Smart OLED TV, it is a great addition to your existing screens.
Who Is the Founder?
Keecker was founded by a former Google product manager, Pierre Lebeau. He felt “invaded from all sides” as our homes started to be filled with “revolutionary and smart” products that weren’t actually that intelligent.
He found it frustrating that even if you own 4K TV, a multi-room audio system and a projector, those devices don’t really communicate with one other and one can’t even make a simple call. That’s when he designed Keecker, an all-round device to fulfill all your needs in any part of your home.
Keecker was officially launched in Paris in October 2017 and in the US and UK early 2018. It comes with either 32GB or 160GB memory and cost between 1790 or 1990 euros based on the capacity. The company raised in total 8 million dollars in a crowdfunding, seed and angel round of financing.
