Get a Unique Wall Painting Within Minutes With Scribit
Scribit is a write & erase robot developed by Carlo Ratti Associati, an innovation and design firm based in Italy. The smart robot requires not more than two nails, a wire and a wall socket. Its interactive software allows for real-time reproduction of any kind of data, whether it’s an illustration, a text or even a weather forecast. It is powered by built-in engines to move, draw, erase and redraw new content countless times.
Scribit aims to be the new way to present digital content.

The robot uses markers in 4 different colors and operates on 2.5m x 2.5m area. In the erase mode, the ink evaporates, leaving no traces on the wall. If the users wish to make the drawing permanent, they can easily swap the special markers for the classic ones.
How it Works
Scribit can turn any vector image from the internet into a drawing on a wall. Having a busy schedule? Let him draw reminders and notes. Or even a shopping list. Forgot an anniversary? You can surprise your partner by leaving romantic quotes all over your bedroom while at work.
Scribit operates on any vertical surface including glass, whiteboards, plaster and more. The only downside is that it stays hanging on the wall unless unhooked.
The company aims to create a platform that connects the community of artists, illustrators with those who seek for inspiration. Their app allows users to browse through a sea of content or create artworks themselves. They’re planning to develop an integration with other popular apps such as Facebook, Instagram and even AI systems like Alexa or Google Home.
For designers and tech savvy users, the versatile robot is able to turn their exported projects from a designer software into a drawing. Carlo Ratti believes his robot solves an important question:
How can we get information and data, but without adding more screens to our lives?
The device is designed not to only make your home interior unique, but also to help people to work and interact with each other.
During their Kickstarter campaign in June 2018, Scribit exceeded the goal almost 33 times. The company also introduced Scribit to public during Milan Design week 2018. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $449 and the device is supposed to be shipped by the end of 2018.
